2016 Sarah Horne Art is launched !!

Sarah Horne is not only an award winning floral designer she is now also an exhibited pen and ink artist.

One of the many wonderful things to come from the medal winning project to take Royal Leamington Spa to the Chelsea Flower show was that Sarah discovered a great passion for drawing, when she was asked to produce drawings for the exhibit catalogue. To feed the passion she attends Neil Moore's weekly life drawing class.

Sarah's work outside class is all about the botanicals.... detailed pen and ink drawings of flowers, plants, bulbs and vines with a few birds, butterflies and dragon flies fluttering through.

Alongside the black and white drawings rich jewelled colours of ink are sometimes applied with both pen and brush to great effect.

Sarah Horne Art is currently available in:-

Framed Original drawings

Framed and Unframed Giclee prints on archival paper

Giclee prints on canvas

May 2014 - RHS Chelsea Flower Show Success!

We are extremely proud to announce our success at  this years RHS Chelsea flower show with 'The Garden  Town of Shakespeareland' exhibit winning the Silver  medal.

Our exhibit was inspired by Royal Leamington Spa with floral design from multi award winning florist Sarah Horne and Garden design by Debbie Cooke. The beautiful arbour was designed by Clive Sanderson over 3 months, and the final product reacher 6 metres in diameter and 4 metres in height making it a truly magnificent sight and will come back to Leamington's gardens. The water feature in the exhibit was courtesy of Mark Wilson and as you can see from the pictures, was a truly spectacular feature.

The whole garden was completely community funded - bringing together over 80 businesses and lots of wonderful volunteers from the town. The support and congratulations that we have received from everyone has been overwhelming and we are so honoured to have been part of a great year at Chelsea and of this wonderful town!

Forthcoming Project

December 2013-  Royal Leamington Spa, The Garden Town of Shakespeareland.

In 2014 we will be taking the beautiful town of Royal Leamington Spa to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and then bring Chelsea back to Royal Leamington Spa. This ambitious project will draw on the superb skills of multiple Chelsea Gold award winning Floral Designer Sarah Horne, AIFD, CFD and award winning Garden Designer, Debbie Cooke and will be managed by Bid Leamington, a not-for-profit business led partnership in Leamington Spa.

The aim is to create an enchanting garden to display in the Great Pavilion at Chelsea 2014. The design will capture the essence of the town of Royal Leamington Spa with it's sophisticated exterior, it's unique individual character and it's artistic, cultural and theatrical interior. The collaboration will have planting to reflect the different areas of Leamington with corresponding floral pods each encapsulating a different style. It will also contain a large water element to reflect the river, lake and fountains associated with this beautiful Spa town.

July 2011 -

Sarah Horne of Sarah Horne Flowers in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, was crowned winner of the bridal design in the prestigious Interflora Florist of the Year 2011 competition. She represented the Central region in the grand final held on Saturday 23rd July at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show.

Sarah fended off tough opposition from ten other florists from across the UK, impressing the judges with her originality and innovation. She came fourth in the overall competition.

Commenting on her achievement, Sarah said “This has been an amazing experience, and there’s been a great atmosphere as we’ve competed in front of the general public. I’m thrilled to have won the best bridal design, as it’s an area of floristry I’m really passionate about!”

Judge Susan Wills-Pope commended: “This is such a highly regarded competition. All the competitors showed excellent workmanship, exceptional use of colour, styling and creativity.”

For the first time since 2004, the Interflora Florist of the Year competition grand finals took place in front of a live audience at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in Knutsford, Cheshire. Visitors were able to watch the finalists go up against the clock to construct their items, with many commenting on the ‘buzz’ surrounding the competitions. Nick Priest, Interflora’s Florist Segment Director, who presented the prizes to the competitors, said: “Interflora is the UK and Ireland’s most recognised and trusted flower delivery service. Our network of over 1,800 expert florists in the UK and Ireland are highly skilled, creating inspirational designs day in day out.

“This competition was established fifty years ago, and the ethos is the same today as it was then - to demonstrate the expertise amongst our Interflora florists. Each and every finalist has shown real dedication, and should be very proud of their achievements.”

June 2011 -

The brief was to design and create racing silks, fresh flowers and foliage should predominate by two thirds.

It was one of the hardest schedules I've ever had to work to and took many hours to complete.

I was so thrilled when it received not only the coveted Gold medal, (my 3rd), but the title of Best in show and Chelsea Florist of the Year.

The demonstration was in the Talking Flowers Marquee at the Chelsea Flower Show.
